Bio
Born in Limerick, Ireland. I went to the University of Limerick studying Information Technology & Telecommunications. I spent a year in Dortmund, Germany working on a computer based training tool for Neural Networks.
In 1996 I headed off to California to work with Netscape on the Navigator browser. I was on the team that create the Live3D/Cosmoplayer VRML 3D plugin. In 1997 I joined Philips Research Palo Alto in California and stayed there until 2000 working on many projects including Multiuser 3D worlds (ActiveWorlds/AlphaWorld) and cross device content portals (SmartConnect) across PCs, WebTV and PDAs.
In 2000 I ran away to Australia for a year of fun and immediately joined a start-up founded by 2 ex-silicon valley entrepreneurs (Plugged In Software - later Tucana Software). I spend 4 years on the holy grail of the semantic web with some success.
In 2004 I founded my own company REDphone to do mobile products right. We created a great content management system for mobiles (SMS, MMS and WAP), PCs (websites, email) and digital signage (interactive and passive displays).
In 2006 I joined News Digital Media as Mobile Technology Manager. I oversee all mobile development and work with the business on strategy, sales and marketing.
